FAQ

Questions we hear often.

We believe in clear communication. Here are answers to the questions prospective and current clients ask most frequently. If you don't see your question here, reach out—we're happy to talk.

Every engagement begins with a structured systems review. We spend 1–2 weeks mapping your current infrastructure, identifying dependencies, and understanding your business objectives. From there, we present a clear roadmap with phased recommendations. You'll have a dedicated strategist throughout the process, and we document everything so your team understands the 'why' behind each decision. Most clients are fully onboarded within 30 days.
Gridline Systems Group is designed for mid-sized organizations with 75 to 1,500 employees. This is the sweet spot where technology complexity outpaces internal IT capacity, but the organization isn't large enough to justify a full enterprise IT department. We work across manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, technology, and other industries.
We work alongside your existing team, not instead of them. Our model is designed to augment and strengthen your internal capabilities. For organizations with small IT teams, we provide the specialized expertise and bandwidth they need. For organizations without dedicated IT staff, we serve as their complete technology partner. Either way, we build systems your people can understand and operate.
Our managed security service includes 24/7 monitoring, defined incident response procedures, and clear escalation paths. When a potential security event is detected, our team triages immediately, contains the threat, and communicates with you throughout the process. We maintain incident response playbooks specific to your environment, conduct tabletop exercises quarterly, and provide post-incident reviews with actionable improvements.
Absolutely. Many of our clients operate with remote or hybrid workforces. We design our services to work seamlessly across distributed teams—from device management and secure remote access to collaboration tool support and virtual onboarding. We understand the unique challenges of supporting employees across multiple locations and time zones.
We provide practical, usable documentation—not technical manuals that gather dust. This includes network diagrams, system architecture documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks for common tasks, and executive summaries. Everything is stored in an accessible knowledge base your team can reference. We update documentation continuously as your environment evolves.
Cloud migration timelines depend on your current environment and complexity. A typical engagement runs 8–16 weeks from discovery through stabilization. We work in phases to minimize disruption—critical systems first, with careful testing at each stage. We never recommend a 'big bang' migration. Our phased approach reduces risk while delivering measurable improvements throughout the process.
Yes. We offer both project-based engagements and ongoing managed service agreements. Project work is scoped with clear deliverables and timelines. Managed services agreements typically run 12 months with quarterly reviews, but we don't lock clients into long-term commitments they can't exit. We believe in earning your business through results, not contract terms.
We price based on scope, complexity, and the specific services you need—not a one-size-fits-all package. Project engagements are priced with fixed fees so you know the cost upfront. Managed services are priced per-user or per-device with transparent monthly rates. Every proposal includes a clear breakdown of what's included, what's optional, and what the expected outcomes are.
Our support structure has clear escalation paths. If an issue isn't resolved within the expected timeframe for its priority level, it automatically escalates to senior engineers. Critical issues engage our leadership team directly. You'll always know who's working on your issue, what the status is, and what the expected resolution timeline looks like. We provide regular status updates for any open critical or urgent tickets.
We design business continuity plans that are practical and tested—not documents that sit on a shelf. This includes backup strategy, recovery time objectives, communication plans, and regular testing. We help you identify your most critical systems and design recovery procedures that match your actual business needs. We conduct annual disaster recovery tests and update plans based on what we learn.
Three things set us apart. First, we start with understanding your whole system before recommending solutions—no premature product pushes. Second, we assign clear ownership so nothing falls through the cracks. Third, we measure and report on outcomes, not just activity. We're not interested in being a vendor you tolerate. We aim to be a strategic partner you trust.
